Having included the wind industry as the target market about a year ago, BIC Electric has now managed to get a breakthrough in the industry: "We have traveled far and wide, and have taken on a global strategy. So the fact that we get a large project virtually in our back yard in Szczecin is a little perculiar," says CEO and partner in BIC Group Jens-Chr. Møller. "For Bilfinger MARS Offshore we are carrying out electrical installations in 91 so-called TP's (transition pieces). They form the foundations of the large offshore wind turbines (see picture), which will be installed at the British wind farm Race Bank, which is being built by DONG Energy. The contract is a bit of a breakthrough in the offshore wind sector, and we hope for more projects in this segment in the near future," he concludes. The project started in late February and is expected to last close to a year.
