Welcoming employee no. 200
 
Entering the year 2018, we have crossed the 200-employee mark. Over the past year we welcomed 38 new employees, and we hope for more to come this year. Among our new colleagues – and potentially the exact “no. 200 employee” – are our Marketing Manager Katarzyna Michalczyk, our Business Process Manager Allan Romerlund and our Customer Relations Controller Cezary Miller, who will all contribute to strengthening the internal and external processes of BIC going through a period of growth. Finishing installations on the new Chernobyl arch
 
We are currently taking part in finishing the electrical installations on the world’s biggest mobile arch in Chernobyl, Ukraine, which will replace the old shelter over the nuclear reactors and will secure the area from nuclear radiation for the coming 100 years. Once installed, the specialized equipment in the arch will make it possible to remove the old shelter and clean up the reactors without getting people exposed to radiation. Read more
 
 
Preparing for the post-Brexit environment
 
In January, together with 30 representatives from Danish companies, we attended a top leaders delegation tour to London organized by Danish Export Association. We were looking into the consequences of Brexit and opportunities in digitalization and automation. Great Britain is  still an important market for us, and the tour's outcome were valuable insights into the process and consequences of Great Britain leaving the EU as well as the conditions and possibilities for doing business in Britain after Brexit. Increased focus on the German Market
 
In January 2018 we became member of both the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce and the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce. The memberships are part of the strategy to increase the focus on our neighbouring German market in 2018 and to attract new German customers. Participation in the “Next Stop Berlin” delegation tour in November resulted in new contacts and knowledge, and we are looking forward to participating in the 3rd Hamburg Copenhagen Business Forum starting on the 28th February. Active in offshore wind energy network
 
We are among the first companies to join a new business network operating in the offshore wind energy sector in the North Sea - Inn2Power (Innovation To Push Offshore Wind Energy Regions). Offering both a digital platform and face-to-face match-making events, the network has already demonstrated its ability to connect business partners and to inspire new cooperation projects. We are looking forward to utilizing this tool further in our future engagement in offshore wind energy. Read more
 
 
Scandinavian management key to success
 
The Danish business magazine Business Syd visited BIC Electric in the autumn, where we had the opportunity to share our experience with doing business in Poland in a field in which we are dependent on highly educated and skilled employees. Together with other Danish companies, we share the conclusion that the Scandinavian values and management style have proven to be a key to success in this field. Read more
