BIC Electric news, October 2018

New energy at BIC: the summer was busy, exciting and refreshing, our team spirit is up and we feel ready to face new, interesting and challenging tasks this autumn.

We are happy to tell you why and how!

Successful Wind Power project

Our largest project to date for Wind Power has recently been completed: we were assigned to carry out electrical installations inside 124 transition pieces (TP's) for offshore wind farm - Hornsea One. Our tasks also were to install earthing and lightning protection as well as to run quality tests.
BIC Electric teams, headed by the very best of our team leaders did a good job there and it was recognized by Steven Haswell - Orsted's representative for TP's construction for Hornsea One OWF:

"Your professionalism, ability to identify issues, logical solutions, willingness to assist other electrical contractors when they were struggling and many other acts have really been appreciated by not only myself onsite, but also the management from both Foundations and WTG departments."

We executed this project in close cooperation with our partner - Resolux who was able to supply components and materials at sharp prices, allowing the customer to make significant savings both on materials and on labour.

If you would like to explore the benefits from cooperation, we are waiting for your call!

PS. One of the team leaders at that project was Michał Charowski, who has recently transitioned into the project management department of BIC and who will now be applying his practical experience and technical knowledge to the management and supervision of execution of BIC Electric's projects. He also has some reflections about the project. Follow the link to read more about Michał's background

Wind Energy Hamburg

It is the world’s leading expo for wind energy bringing together key players from the offshore and onshore wind supply chain. Over 30.000 representatives and around 1.400 exhibitors from around the world met this year in Hamburg to get a comprehensive overview of the current status and future prospects of the Wind Energy sector. BIC, who has recently been responsible for the electrical outfitting of the 124 TPs for the Hornsea Project One OWF were there too!
We sent a team of three: Maj (Sales manager), Kasia (Marketing manager) & Ben (Customer relations support). It was our first year visiting the fair, but for sure not the last! After exploring the exhibition and having several meetings with known as well as new potential collaboration partners, we are left with new leads and contacts to explore business opportunities with, more knowledge about the industry and of course tired feet and a hoarse voice from all the networking and running around the gigantic exhibition halls. We would like to thank all business relations that we encountered and look forward to continuing growing in the Wind Sector.
May the wind be with you all!

Upcoming events

The travelling season for BIC does not end with the summer. Actually, it just begins. In every week of autumn you can meet BIC in a different place. Soon, we will be at International Suppliers' Fair in Wolfsburg, Scanpack in Gothenburg, Wind Energy Denmark in Hedensted, Denmark, Brau Beviale in Nuremberg, Agromek in Herning, Denmark, Airport Exchange in Oslo, and numerous networking events.

Recruitment activities in Szczecin

We are always on the lookout for new talents to blend them into our experienced teams of BIC technicians. We are lucky to have access to a pool of young, energetic and well-educated electricians and mechanics and engineers from our immediate area and beyond. For the first time in our history, we organized an "Open Day at BIC" to present ourselves to a wider audience and pick the best of the crowd. On that one day we met nearly 50 candidates who learned how BIC works and what we have to offer. The job interviews are already underway.

Summer visit stats

Summer is over, and it is time to evaluate and gather the results from our summer visits to existing as well as potential customers. More than 40 meetings have been completed and out of these, we have managed to receive lots of feedback. Now we are better informed about the finalised projects, updated on our customers' and business relations' situation and wishes for the future. We also got new and exciting projects into our project pipeline.

Summer party recap

Like every year, we managed to spend some good, team-building time together at the Polish seaside. This is particularly important for our company: our technicians are constantly on the go, make new friends at every project, and we want to provide an opportunity for those friendships to grow. The meeting was also an opportunity for our CEO, Jens-Chr. to outline the plans and ambitions for the next year. We will keep you informed. In the meantime, you are welcome to browse the photos here.

As always, you are welcome to check our social media pages to learn more about what we are up to!
