BIC Electric news, December 2018

Gathering momentum for 2019. It's time to evaluate the year and we are happy with how it played out
During 2018 we have shared external as well as internal activities and now, at the end the year, we are happy to share our initial summary and some more updates.
It was a great year for the BIC family!

Sales Manager & CEO thanking Crown Prince Frederik for Royal Export Prize
At the beginning of December Sales Manager Maj W. Møller and CEO Jens-Christian Møller met The Danish Crown Prince Frederik – thanking him personally for the Diploma of the Danish Export Association and the Royal Medal of Honour, granted to Jens-Christian in 2018 for his support for Danish export and for his efforts in promoting Danish CSR values abroad.

Conveying and sorting systems is our forte, and win-win-win is the way to go!

In 2018 alone we have installed 25 km of conveying systems - it is the length of the No. 1 metro line in Madrid or the world's longest road tunnel - Lærdal Tunnel in Norway. We have carried out 34 projects in 13 different countries and here is one example that we are particularly proud of: working for EuroSort/Distrisort, we performed mechanical assembly and electrical installation of a EuroSort sorter line for a retail and e-commerce leading company within the Central European market, Empik. Our work helped DistriSort give shape to an abstract idea that satisfies Empik’s requirements.

Sebastian Tudor, DistriSort’s Project Manager, says this about the combined EuroSort+BIC Electric team behind the execution:

The customer has noticed our hard and good work and he sends his compliments!
We managed once again to deliver on time and with the expected quality, that tells something also about who we are in the market. I am proud to be part of this team, and I hope that we can keep up this pace for all projects to come!

We are happiest when our customers are happy.

BIC Electric - a smart first mover - featured in Danish Industry’s magazine

At the beginning of December, BIC Electric and its CEO, Jens-Chr. Møller, were featured in the Danish Industry (DI) magazine, as part of an ongoing series about growing markets in close proximity to Denmark.
The article focuses on Poland as an interesting market that Denmark has overlooked for too long, and emphasizes that within the past 12 months, Danish companies have had over 20.5 billion in exports to Poland – but the potential is much bigger!

The article portrays BIC Electric as a successful and smart first mover, in terms of tapping into the highly qualified Polish labor market, where the education level among young people has now surpassed the one in Denmark. Read a bit more here and if you are interested, here is the full article in Danish.

Next stop: West Africa

It is a tradition at BIC is to "share the good with others." Especially at Christmas time. In previous years we supported Doctors without Borders, Polish Humanitarian Action or Polish Center for International Aid, but in 2018 we have bought DKK 200.000 (EUR 27.000) worth of educational equipment for a technical school in Ghana (MIM Technical Academy).
We wish to create a better future for young people in Africa. We also have plans for 2019.

Lillegaarden - Spinning Tour 2018

Here at BIC we do our best to be active and to encourage healthy lifestyles. That said, it is not always easy to do as you preach 😉. Therefore, we are happy to support and praise other organisations with the same healthy focus.

BIC Electric supported Jens Bjørn from our business partner company Lillegården A/S at the local Spinning event - Hobro IK Spinning Tour 2018.

20 riders fought bravely on the spinning cycles for an entire hour and collected DKK 700.000, significantly more than last year's Spinning Tour raise of DKK 585.660. From this amount 25,000 DKK was donated to the Christmas Seal Foundation home (Julemærkehjemmet) in Hobro and the rest went to finance a new artificial turf field for Hobro IK 's football association.

Santa has already visited BIC

Last week we invited all our employees who are parents to bring their kids to a company Christmas party - it was the first time we held it at BIC and was immediately a success. More than 60 children came to pick up gifts from Santa while their parents socialized over some traditional Polish borshch and pierogis.
