2019 has barely started and we are already looking at a considerably broader horizon: not only Europe, but also South America, New Zealand and Africa coming into focus. We have even mingled with the Danish Royal Family.

 Kick-off of our African project

 

 

 

The first group of Nigerian and Ghanaian electrical engineers has already arrived at BIC and they are running an intensive training on the "BIC way."

Not only are they learning how we handle the projects and what values BIC stands for, but also about our cooperation internally and with our customers. In the future, they will apply knowledge when they start dealing with their own projects from our African business hub.

Our top management has recently visited Argentina on a business study tour together with a Danish state visit. They were able to meet Her Majesty the Queen and chat with His Royal Highness The Crown Prince and network with other companies interested in that region.

The visit coincided with the first ever Argentinian project for BIC Electric. We will be happy to go back there again.

Every now and again, we receive requests from our customers to carry out installation jobs in remote locations. Mobility is one of our cornerstones so it should not come as surprise.

Sometimes our customers find themselves trapped between the financial constraints regarding sending their own staff far away on the one hand, and the risks of unsatisfactory performance from local teams on the other.

Princess, Chuck, David, Ebenezer, Hamza and Jonathan – these are our first 6 electrical engineers from Nigeria and Ghana. They joined our BIC team in April and will be a part of the team in our business hub in Africa.

Design, installations and maintenance, power generation, offshore works, food processing, industrial buildings infrastructure, industry, control & automation – this is only a fraction of their skillset and it fits in perfectly with the industries and services that BIC Electric offers. 

Having this fantastic technical background and experience, they will be taking care of the project executions together with our technicians in Europe. Ultimately, will become responsible for the execution of projects in Africa.

Their first impressions? “Although prepared - we never expected that it would be SO cold here” – says Jonathan, “we were freezing!” When asked about the relation between Ghanaians and Nigerians, they immediately grin and say in one voice "we are brothers!"
